Za mną lektura ostatniego tomu serii Bridgertonowie Julii Quinn. Czekałam na niego ze zniecierpliwieniem, ale też swego rodzaju żalem, że to już koniec. „Ślubny skandal” poświęcono ostatniemu wolnemu Bridgertonowi, czyli Gregory’emu.
Z napięciem śledziłam perypetie miłosne całego rodzeństwa Bridgertonów. Co prawda wiedziałam, że autorka zawsze wiedzie do szczęśliwego finału, ale za każdym razem robiła to w inny sposób i nie brakowało zaskoczeń. Tym razem również mnie nie zawiodła. Po części tok zdarzeń można było przewidzieć, ale pojawiło się też kilka niespodzianek. I jak zawsze lektura była bardzo przyjemna.
Kto wywoła „Ślubny skandal”?
Po tym, jak układały się losy pozostałych członków rodziny, Gregory Bridgerton wie, że coś takiego, jak prawdziwa miłość istnieje. Nie trafił po prostu na odpowiednią kobietę. Kiedy ją zobaczy, będzie wiedział, że to ona. I oto ta chwila nadchodzi! Niczym rażony piorunem, kiedy widzi zaledwie zarys linii szyi Hermiony Watson, Gregory przepada. Problem jest taki, że ona kocha kogoś innego. Jednak Lucinda Abernathy, wierna przyjaciółka Hermiony wie, że jej rodzice nie pozwolą wyjść za niższego stanu wybranka. Podczas pierwszego tomu Gregory podobnie jak Hiacynta byli dziećmi. Przez kolejne części można było obserwować, jak dorastają. Mimo że byli bohaterami drugiego planu (Hiacyncie poświęcony jest wcześniejszy tom). W „Ślubnym skandalu” widać, jak młody Gregory dojrzewa i sam poznaje, czym jest prawdziwa miłość. Sama fabuła jest okraszona poczuciem humoru i błyskotliwymi dialogami. Poza tym znów można spotkać bohaterów dobrze znanych ze wcześniejszych tomów. Książkę czyta się równie szybko, jak poprzednie, ale chciałam odroczyć jej zakończenie, wiedząc, że to już koniec.
